feef makes music

BIO

Hello, I'm Felicia but you can call me feef. I am a multi-instrumentalist musician and indie folk singer-songwriter based in Boston, Massachusetts, with roots in the vibrant traditional irish music scene on the South Shore and Boston. For over 20 years, I've immersed myself in the rich tapestry of musical influences, drawing inspiration from the likes of Elliott Smith, Elton John, Simon and Garfunkel, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Fleet Foxes, Billie Eilish, and Nick Drake, as well as the traditional Irish music that surrounded me during my upbringing.

My musical journey revolves around the guitar, where I craft intricate fingerstyle picking and complex chord arrangements, reminiscent of the playing styles of Paul Simon, Elliott Smith, Joan Baez, and Joni Mitchell. While the guitar is my mainstay, I've also delved into mastering the banjo, mandolin, harmonica, bass guitar, and piano, as well as exploring the sonic realms of synthesizers.

As a music producer, I've woven my basement studio in Dorchester into a creative haven, where I produce each song, infusing dreamy textures, field recordings, and haunting yet sweet vocal harmonies into my work. Beyond creating music, I find enjoyment in field recording and draw inspiration from the beauty of nature.

In my daily life, I work at an Irish bakery and enjoy spending time with my partner and pup. I infuse my music with the transformative power of my own mental health recovery journey. Through my songs, I chronicle the lessons learned and experiences gained along the way, offering a sense of comfort and connection to those who resonate with my introspective yet uplifting soundscapes. Join me on this journey of musical storytelling, where each song is a heartfelt reflection of life's joys and struggles, offering solace and a heartfelt connection to all who listen.
